When you look in the mirror, your smile should feel like you. But sometimes, there are little things we wish we could change — a chipped tooth, discoloration that whitening just can’t seem to fix, uneven edges, small gaps, or teeth that simply don’t have the shape you’d like.
That’s where aesthetic dentistry comes in.
At Cedar Creek Dental, we believe cosmetic treatment isn’t about creating the same “perfect” smile for every patient. It’s about enhancing what you already have and creating a smile that looks natural, balanced, and fits you.
One of the ways we can do that is with porcelain veneers.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are placed over the front surface of the teeth. Although they’re incredibly thin, they can completely change the appearance of a smile.
Veneers may be used to improve the appearance of teeth that are:
- Chipped or worn
- Discolored or stained
- Uneven in shape or size
- Slightly misaligned
- Separated by small gaps
- Asymmetrical or disproportionate to the rest of your smile
The goal isn’t necessarily to make your teeth look “perfect.” In fact, some of the most beautiful veneer cases are the ones where you can’t immediately tell that someone has had dental work done.
Will Veneers Look Natural?
This is one of the biggest concerns we hear from patients considering aesthetic dentistry.
And we understand why.
You may have seen veneers that look extremely white, bulky, or identical from tooth to tooth. But veneers don’t have to look that way.
Aesthetic dentistry is about more than choosing a shade of white. The shape, size, translucency, proportions, texture, and overall relationship between the teeth all play a role in the final result.
Your smile should complement your face — not overpower it.
At Cedar Creek Dental, treatment is personalized to the individual patient. We take the time to consider what you want to change while also looking at the bigger picture of your smile.
How Many Veneers Do I Need?
There isn’t one answer that works for everyone.
Some patients may only want to address one or two teeth, while others are interested in a more comprehensive smile transformation. The number of veneers recommended depends on your existing smile, which teeth are visible when you smile, your goals, and your overall oral health.
That’s why an aesthetic consultation is so important.
Before deciding on treatment, we can talk through what you like about your current smile, what you would like to change, and the options available to help you get there.
And veneers aren’t always the only option. Depending on your needs, treatments such as whitening, bonding, Invisalign, or a combination of services may also be considered.
Are Veneers Permanent?
Veneers are considered a long-term dental treatment. In many cases, a small amount of enamel may need to be removed to create the proper fit and appearance, which means the treatment generally isn’t considered reversible.
That’s also why choosing veneers shouldn’t feel rushed.
A beautiful result begins with careful planning, good communication, and understanding exactly what you want from your smile.
A Smile That Still Looks Like You
There’s something special about seeing a patient look at their new smile for the first time.
Aesthetic dentistry can change the appearance of teeth, but the part we love most is seeing what happens afterward — the bigger smile, the confidence in photos, and sometimes simply not thinking twice before laughing.
If there’s something about your smile that you’ve been thinking about changing, we’d love to talk with you about what’s possible.
